Chief Minister Oommen Chandy declared Kozhikode ‘Shilpa Nagaram,’ a city of sculptures, on Thursday.
The CM unveiled ‘Remembrance,’ a 36-foot-long and 7-foot-tall sculpture made by Advait Gadanaik from Odisha, to make the declaration at a formal function held at Kozhikode beach.
The Shilpa Nagaram project is being executed by the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi, in association with the District Tourism Promotion Council. Twelve sculptures made by noted sculptors from across the country will be installed at key locations in the city as part of the project.
