Flower lovers are getting to witness some exotic and potted plant and flowers at the Marine Ground near the beach. The Green Indian Rotary Pushpotsav – 2011 which in on till Aril 25 is spellbinding the visitors with hues of red, green and yellow. Leading horticulturists and nursery plant owners of the district are taking part in this show.Over 200 vaireties of roses, different varieties of Dahlia, cactus, bonsai etc. are in full bllom at the show.

The star night hosted by Association of Malayalam Movie Actors (AMMA) will be held at the Corporation Stadium Calicut on 2nd of March, to raise fund for the disabled actors and family of actors who died/ AMMA is currently giving pension of Rs 2500 every month to 65 members.. It was in 2005 AMMA hosted a star night to raise fund for the same reason. AMMA is planning to raise the amount of pension that is given to the members. [...]

Ever seen a 15000 Square feet flower carpet? Well that is what the district administration is aiming for, as a part of Onam celebrations to get Calicut into the Guinness Books World Records. This huge flower carpet-  Sneha Pookkalam; on 15000 Square feet area will be made at the Swapna Nagari on the theme of religious harmony and universal brotherhood. 10 tonnes of flower are expected to be needed for this.
