Flower lovers are getting to witness some exotic and potted plant and flowers at the Marine Ground near the beach. The Green Indian Rotary Pushpotsav – 2011 which in on till Aril 25 is spellbinding the visitors with hues of red, green and yellow. Leading horticulturists and nursery plant owners of the district are taking part in this show.Over 200 vaireties of roses, different varieties of Dahlia, cactus, bonsai etc. are in full bllom at the show.

FOSSMeet – Free and Open Source Softwares Meet , the annual event on Free and Open Source Software at National Institute of Technology Calicut. This event brings together FOSS enthusiasts from all over India. The 2011 edition of the event is scheduled to be held during February 4 to 6, 2011. The list of events will be out soon.

An open movie festival is being conducted at NIT Calicut before the FOSSMeet 2011 following which the FOSSCell of NIT Calicut and Chamba Swathanthra Cinema Project is organizing a 3D Animation workshop using Blender for college students. The programme will be a two day event ( on Jan 1 & 2 ). The Open Movie fest will be on Jan 1 from 10am to 1pm and the Blender workshop on Jan 2nd.

A five-day science camp for Plus One students ofthe State will be organised by the Department of Physics, National Institute of Technology-Calicut (NIT-C). This programme will be held from December 18 at the NIT-C campus.
