Mass Action for Plastic waste free (MAP) campaign, a project started jointly by the District Sanitation Mission, district administration and the Department of Education, aims to make Calicut a plastic free land by the coming January. A five-day science camp for Plus One students ofthe State will be organised by the Department of Physics, National Institute of Technology-Calicut (NIT-C). This programme will be held from December 18 at the NIT-C campus. The NSS Scheme of the University in association with Chamber of Education is organizing a two-day educational film festival at the University  Campus on 14th aand 15th of this month. Eight films are expected to be screened at the festival. These include movies like Dead Poet’s Society, Blackboards, Matilda, Daddy Day Care etc. A Meida Society is planned to be formed during the event by including a hundred or more CBSE and aided schools.
